About Jennifer
My pronouns are she/her/hers and I'd love to tell you a bit about myself!
Hi, I’m Jennifer!
I chose the name Rising Resilience Counseling for my practice because I like to help clients use the strengths they already possess, the ones that have helped them survive up until this point, and harness them in a way that helps them move beyond merely surviving to thriving and enjoying life again.
I grew up in the Greater Seattle area, on the traditional land of the Duwamish people native to our region. I enjoy all the natural beauty our area has to offer, from the Puget Sound, Lake Washington, to the gorgeous mountain scenery that surrounds us.
I am a mixed-race woman of color with Korean, Polish, and Irish ancestry. My mother was an immigrant to this country, and I was blessed to be raised with both Korean and American cultures prominent in my household.
I love working with clients of various backgrounds, especially leaning into those difficult conversations about what it means to be a BIPOC or member of another marginalized group in our society. I work from a culturally-informed, person-centered framework where I meet the client where they are at.
You are worthy and capable of healing and happiness! You don't have to struggle alone.
With gratitude,
Jennifer Alsdorf, MA, LMHC
